Who is Jesus

Jesus the shepherd

No other name is so well-known or has been so widely discussed like the name of Jesus Christ.

We believe that truly knowing who Jesus is, on a relational level, is the most important thing we could ever know.

He is the Son of God, with the Bible telling us, "the Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation." (Colossians 1:15).

Belief in Jesus makes us right with God, as Romans 10:9 tells us: "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord', and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

What the Bible Says

The Bible tells us that through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ we are offered eternal life.

This offer is for anyone who believes in what Jesus came to do for all of mankind as He died on the cross and rose again from the dead.

His victory over death itself is the reason God can open the doors to an eternal inheritance for us in His Kingdom of Heaven.

It’s all about dealing with the wrong things we all do during our life on earth.

We often hear it said, “Well, nobody’s perfect.” We would all agree with that; however, this is where the problem lies when it comes to God receiving us into His PERFECT Heaven.

The Bible makes it very clear; God just CANNOT allow anything IMPERFECT into a PERFECT Heaven.

This is the human dilemma when it comes to receiving eternal life with God, and it is a problem mankind could not solve for themselves; it took God to do that for us and He did it in the person of Jesus Christ.

Holy Bible

Transfer of Trust

Many people believe that because they haven’t committed any REALLY serious crime against anyone that God would overlook all their small crimes like lying at times, hating someone who deserves it, not forgiving people who have offended us and so on.

These things, we can easily justify as being “not THAT bad” or “I’m no worse than other people, cause we ALL do these things.”

So, we go about our life content that this belief system will stand us in good stead on the Day of Judgement.

Sadly, this is just NOT what God says about this problem with our offences. God calls them “SIN” and it simply means to be a “law breaker” (God’s law that is).

It also means to “miss the mark.” In other words, though we are all capable of doing the right thing, we also have a bias towards doing the wrong thing.

Our sins actually separate us from God. This is why we need God’s help.

Sadly, and mistakenly, most people are trusting in THEMSELVES to gain entry into an eternal heaven.

According to the Bible, however, this is a false belief and is never found taught anywhere in its writings.

Trusting in ourselves to inherit eternal life will never allow us to hit the mark and we are all in the same boat on this one.

None of us make the grade which is why we must transfer our trust from OURSELVES to Jesus Christ.

Jesus Paid the Price for Our Sins

Sin is an offense to God that requires to be punished.

We understand this when we consider our prison system.

This means that everyone on the earth will stand before God one day and give an account of their life to God.

We stare at God’s eternal punishment for our sins committed unless there is a way of ESCAPE…thank God, there is one, and it was Jesus who gave it to us.

The Bible tells us that while Jesus was dying on the cross, He received OUR PUNISHMENT for OUR SINS for ALL TIME to come. He simply died in our place.

He suffered the judgement of God the Father instead of US.

This act alone meant that if we would place our trust on what Jesus did for us – even now – we position ourselves to inherit eternal life in heaven with Him.

Jesus on cross

It goes like this

  • Jesus came to earth to live a perfect life and reveal God’s love to everyone.
  • He came on a mission to save mankind from the effects of sin and our separation from God.
  • He received the punishment for sin that we should have received. He died in our place.
  • He paid the penalty for our sins and now offers us eternal life if we trust in what He did for us.
  • Now We Choose

  • We now make a choice to BELIEVE this and to TURN from following our old sinful habits.
  • We REPENT (change our minds) and choose to ask God’s FORGIVENESS for ALL SINS COMMITTED.
  • We now place our TRUST in what Jesus did for us on the cross and believe that He rose again from the dead.
  • We receive Christ as our SAVIOUR and LORD and set our lives to follow Him from now on.
  • Eternity Secured

If you will choose to commit your life to Jesus in this way, God will give you eternal life and record your name in the Book of Life kept in heaven.

To begin this journey and secure your eternal destiny, please pray this prayer : -

Dear heavenly Father, I thank You for making it possible for me to receive eternal life by sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to the earth to die for me.

I admit that I have committed many wrong things and I now ask You to forgive me for them all.

I choose to receive Jesus into my life and follow Him from now on as Lord of my life.

I will not recant on this choice and ask You to give me Your Holy Spirit now to help me live like You need me to.

I believe Jesus died, was buried and rose again from the dead.

I choose to look for and find a local church that will teach me to follow the truth of the Bible so I can develop my new relationship with You.

Thank You Jesus for all You did to make my eternal destiny possible. Amen

If you were sincere when you prayed this prayer, God has already responded to it and you have entered into His everlasting Kingdom.
